Since joining the One World alliance in April 2020, flights on Royal Air Maroc have been bookable using avios which expanded the network, especially in Africa, but where can you fly and how can you book?

How to book on points

The main airline programs that can use points to book on RAM are –

  • Alaska Mileage Plan
  • American Airlines
  • British Airways Executive Club
  • Iberia
  • Etihad Guest

Alaska Mileage plan

The points needed for Alaska redemptions are quite high on RAM, but the fees are low and a stopover can be added.

American Airlines

AA classes Morocco as part of its European redemption chart and has very low tax/surcharges.

British Airways Executive Club

BAEC uses a mileage based chart for partner bookings. Unfortunately they also no longer publish the awards chart either.

Trying to book flights on the BA site for RAM currently generates an error of ‘Sorry there is a problem with booking this journey online. Try selecting other flights’ while even phoning the call center apparently doesnt always lead to a booking due to the agent frequently being unable to see availability. As this has been going on for several months, it would seem there are a few problems.

Iberia

RAM flights should be bookable on Iberia, but while the site will show multi-sector flights where one of the legs is on RAM, it seems to be reluctant to show and direct RAM availability. Im not sure if this can be resolved by calling.

Etihad Guest

Etihad have RAM as a partner, but must be booked by phone. The award chart, per segment is
